ICSC Welcomes Union University Students

We were so happy to host a group of students from Union University, in Jackson, TN, at ICSC on Friday. About 20 students joined ICSC member and Union faculty member Brooke Emery to attend an advertising conference in the Big Apple. We hosted a casual breakfast at ICSC’s headquarters in Manhattan where the students were treated to a discussion with Buck Sappenfield, an executive at Ann, Inc., the company associate with Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor loft stores. The wide-ranging conversation touched on academic studies, strategies for finding internships and jobs after graduation, and the challenges and opportunities of integrating faith in one’s career.

The students also enjoyed an impromptu visit with ICSC’s Director of Social Media Sarah Malcolm. Malcolm reviewed ICSC’s overall social media efforts, as well as the current campaign, "Bigger Better Javits," to generate excitement around the move of the 2014 New York Dealmaking Conference to the Jacob Javits Center. The students also attended a first-ever ceremony to note the signing of a new global partnership between ICSC and Cushman & Wakefield, the global real estate services company. Michael Kercheval, President & CEO of ICSC, was joined by Carlo Barel di Sant’ Albano, Executive Chairman at Cushman & Wakefield. The students heard first-hand about the partnership and Cushman & Wakefield’s international development strategies.

We wish our students well as they enjoy a stimulating conference in the City – and hope they all become ICSC Student Members very soon. Enjoy some moments from their visit!
