The following is a list of government websites that will help you in your academic research.  These organizations provide accurate, reliable and credible information. 

Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA)
Publishes the Survey of Current Business, an online survey that presents the latest national, international, regional, and industry estimate through charts, tables, and articles such as GDP and the Economy and Integrated Macroeconomic Accounts for the United States; offers National Economic Accounts Data, which provides information on GDP, personal income, corporate profits, and fixed assets, International Economic Accounts Data, which provides information on international transactions, international services, and operations of multinational companies, Regional Economic Accounts Data, which offers GDP by state, state and personal income, and fact sheets, and Industry Economic Accounts Data, which provides annual industry accounts.

Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)
Publishes Monthly Labor Review, a report with articles that offer information about industry dynamics, employment, consumer spending and inflation, Economic News Releases, which include major economic indicators such as consumer price index, U.S. import and export price indexes, and productivity costs, and reports such as CPI Detailed Report, which provides current Consumer Price Indexes, measuring price movements of consumer goods and services in the U.S., and PPI Detailed Report, which provides a report of price movements at the producer or wholesale level; offers the Consumer Expenditure Survey (CE), which provides information on the buying habits of consumers, including data on their expenditures, income, and consumer unit characteristics.

Publishes Economic Development America, a magazine that offers business and investment information, and EDA Update, an online newsletter that offers business data and information about the organization; provides research reports that offer information on long-term economic strategies, technology-based economic development, and regional innovation assessments.

Economics and Statistics Administration (ESA)
Offers reports such as Macroeconomic and Industrial Effects of Higher Natural Gas Prices which focus on economic, business, and international trade information which affect the industry and economy; provides economic indicators for sectors as Advance Monthly Sales for Retail and Food Services, Gross Domestic Product, Monthly Wholesale Trade, New Residential Sales, Retail E-Commerce Sales and U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services.

International Trade Administration (ITA)
Publishes BISNIS Bulletin, which provides information on the interests of U.S. companies and organizations involved in Eurasia, and International Trade Update, a newsletter about trade and investments.

International Trade Commission (USITC)
Offers the International Economic Review (IER), a bimonthly journal about developments in international economics and trade and provides information and on international trade matters, and Industry Trade and Technology Review (ITTR), a journal which analyzes factors affecting U.S. manufacturing and services industries and provides an analysis into their competitiveness.
